Day 21 - 65 Miles

Total = 1440
Woodbury to Big Lake

Today started off wonderfully. We all woke up in nice soft beds and weren't doing a full day so we didn't feel pressure to get on the road early. Gary & Joyce treated us to a nice big meal this morning...it made leaving the comforts of a nice home tough.

We wound ourselves through the suburbs to avoid downtown St. Paul & Minneapolis. Normally that might be annoying, but they've done a really great job of developing the roads around here and we had wide shoulders most of the way.

Julie finally joined the flat tire club today. She had a small peice of metal in her tire that punctured the tube. It was her first on the road tube change. Sorry, no picture. She was all alone at that point. Armin also had some bike issues today. He puts up with a lot and keeps truckin. Not to be left out I also had to change my BOB trailer tube tonight. It had been slowly leaking and got bad enough that I changed it.

We easily made into Big Lake, MN. We really wanted to stay at a Catholic Church that had some nice land, but we couldn't find the priest. Ended up getting a spot behind an independent church that is nice as well. Beats drunk Ray from a few days ago by a longshot.

Tomorrow we have a short ride to my cousin's house in Sauk Rapids. We plan to make a stop in St. Cloud for some bike shop, bookstore, and library time. And, we might go swimming in one of Minnesotas 10,000 lakes in the morning!
